Welcome to the JANUARY newsletter
Friday, January 20, 2012 at 4:48PM ‘And now let us welcome the New Year, full of things that have never been.’
Rainer Maria Rilke
A belated Happy New Year to you all. January is named after Janus, the god with two heads – one looking backward into the old year and one looking forward into the new. Now is the time to look back and do a little stock taking then celebrate 2011 before you move forward into 2012.
Ask yourself:
- What am I proud of?
- What lessons did I learn?
- What dreams came true?
- 2011 led me to...
- I am thankful for...
NOW you can start to set your intentions for 2012:
- What do I want to achieve?
- What do I want to experience?
- What do I REALLY want to do in 2012?
Have fun!
Essential oil of the month
JUNIPER
Juniper is a cleansing oil, ideal to burn while you are doing the exercise above as it clears the head and brings clarity of purpose. It works on the violet ray supporting mind and spirit as we pursue our aims with sincerity. It brings spiritual knowledge and understanding when used for meditation. Use it for clients who have experienced emotional negativity, guilt and fear; it lifts us up from feelings of worthlessness, bringing peace and wisdom.
Treatment of the month
INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE
Indian Head Massage is based on traditional Indian massage techniques. It involves work on the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face using a variety of massage movements to relieve accumulated tension, stimulate circulation and restore joint mobility. Head massage revitalises the whole body, rebalancing the energy flow to the body and creating a feeling of peace and well being.
An excellent stress buster, both relaxing and uplifting, it is good for clearing the head and easing tense shoulders. Great for office workers, Indian Head Massage can be done without oil through light clothing, so is perfect for corporate work. The routine you will learn is based on the Mehta method of Indian head massage, developed by Narendra Mehta who brought the formalised treatment to the West.
The course costs £120 and carries 9 CPD points.
